Northside's #1 racing truck took the chequered flag for the final time this season at Brands Hatch, and driver Ryan Smith took home his tenth championship in a row in front of a thrilled audience. The British Truck Racing Championship drove into Kent for the final race weekend of the year with the title still in the balance, and the question was whether Ryan would keep his grip at the top of the table. The answer came after a weekend of tight racing, red flags, and flying bodywork, that yes, Ryan Smith is still the best in the biz.

Northside's launch event earlier this year posed a tricky question for Ryan - would the changes in regulations slow him down? It had resulted in some frantic re-designs of his Damiler Freightliner, but he and the rest of the Worldwide Racing Team were confident that the mechanical changes they'd made to adhere to the rules would result in a success.

Impressive Immmingham

We teamed up with Ryan Smith four years ago and in his run in a Daimler Truck, he has stormed to a record-breaking number of national titles. Not only has no truck racer managed ten in a row before, this achievement is unrivalled across British motor racing as a whole. A huge congrats needs to go to Ryan, the Worldwide Racing Team and everyone involved in getting the truck to a historic title. This includes everyone at the Immingham branch of Northside, which has hosted the truck in its off-days, providing a valuable home for repairs, reconstruction, and safety. It was from our Lincolnshire branch where the truck departed at the start of the season and as it crossed the line in Kent to seal the title, you could feel a triumphant feeling of a job well done and another trophy landing in the Ryan Smith collection.
