Northside is delighted to announce that two of our technicians, Jonathan “Jonno” Grant and Bailey Leaper at the Sheffield depot, have passed their Van Diagnostic Technician Accreditation.

After a full day of testing each with diagnostic assessments, theory tests and practical examinations, both of our technicians were awarded the accreditation, putting them at the very summit of their diagnostic technician journey.

They both began at Northside as apprentices roughly eight years ago, and under the training and mentorship of Northside Group Aftersales Training and Apprenticeship Manager Matt Drury, they have continued to grow, learn and adapt, with this DT accreditation the culmination of years of hard work and effort.

The Apprenticeship scheme here at Northside is constantly bringing in young enterprising technicians and the achievements of Jonno and Bailey this week demonstrate that there is no limit to how far our budding mechanics can go with the right mindset and the expert support of our mentors. If an apprenticeship interests you or you know somebody who would be keen to start, see our Apprenticeships page for requirements and either keep an eye on the Careers page for openings or get in touch.

To put Jonno and Bailey's achievement into perspective, only five people nationwide were chosen to undertake the accreditation this year. Two of those five work in the Sheffield depot at Northside, showing just how difficult this accreditation is to achieve, and how valuable it is to have in your inventory as a DT. To secure 40% of the entire UK Diagnostic Technician qualifiers in one depot shows such huge credit to our team and mentors.

The Sheffield workshop now has five Diagnostic Technicians across both Truck & Van with other technicians waiting in the wings for their turn at the Diagnostic Technician programme, with Northside backing them every step of the way. A huge congratulations from everyone at Northside to you all for this incredible achievement.
