Designed to maximise career opportunities, the apprentice scheme goes beyond the required technician fundamentals by offering specialist modules in fabrication, welding and hand fitting, and an improver course covering HGV training, legislation and product courses. Every apprentice taken on by Northside since they launched their revamped programme has qualified for the extended training modules laid on by Mercedes-Benz for high-performers.

What is an Apprenticeship?
When you choose to study an apprenticeship, you choose an opportunity to gain qualification and experience through practical hands-on training and classroom learning. On completing your 3 – 4-year studies you are fully prepared to enter the job market with practical and applicable skills.

What to Expect
Parts Operations Specialist
The role of a Parts Operations Specialist is diverse. You’ll be working both behind the scenes receiving deliveries, and at the front desk serving Mercedes-Benz customers. You’ll learn skills in how to manage stock, process orders and organise displays to promote our vehicle parts.
Commercial Vehicle Technician
Studying on the Commercial Vehicle Technician scheme you will learn to diagnose and repair faults through practical and theoretical learning. You will be trained to carry out the frequent routine maintenance required of heavy vehicles and you’ll learn how to use our STAR diagnostic equipment. Designed to maximise career opportunities, the apprentice scheme goes beyond the required technician fundamentals by offering specialist modules in fabrication, welding and hand fitting, and a fourth-year improver course covering HGV training, legislation and product courses.
Why Apprentice with Us?
We provide financial incentives by paying wages at 30% above the industry standard and contribute monthly to a 10-year or 15-year savings pot, allowing apprentices to earn a bonus of up to £21,600. Following a successful trial period apprentice technicians now receive a Boxo Tool Kit worth more than £3,000.

Northside’s great investment in apprentices is evident with a 95% retention rate of apprentices and in their continued development, currently 15 of 52 apprentices still employed have managerial or director status.
Who we are looking for
The future success of our business depends on the caliber of the people we recruit, our primary interest is that you are ambitious, hardworking and have a genuine interest in the brand and the work we do. ideally, you will be predicted, or have achieved, GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English Language and IT.
All successful applicants will also be required to complete aptitude tests to help ensure the programme can offer you the support you need. Relevant experience or evidence of your ambition is desirable.
